CHAPTER 1.THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated on the British Isles. The United Kingdom is one of the world's smaller countries. Its population is over 57 million. The United Kingdom is made up of four countries: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The British Isles are separated from the Continent by the North Sea and the British Channel. The western coast of Great Britain is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea. The surface of the British Isles varies very much. There are Highlands. The north and west of England are mountainous, but the eastern, central and south - eastern parts of England are a vast plain.

There are a lot of rivers in Great Britain.The Severn is the longest river, while the Thames is the deepest and the most important river. The climate of the British Isles is mild the whole year round. The UK is a highly developed industrial country.[2]
London ,the capital of Great Britain. It is one of the most visited cities of the world. Among the top sights of London – the British Museum, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the Tate Gallery, Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court, Madame Tussauds, The Sherlock Holmes Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum. [I] 2. BIG BEN Big Ben is not only the symbol of Great Britain and one of the most beautiful sights of London but it’s the largest and the most famous clock in the world. Big Ben is a tower. It’s one of the highest towers of Westminster Palace.

EDINBURG The capital of Scotland is known for being one of the most elegant cities of Europe. Among the most known sights — Edinburg Castle, the Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. If you have enough time, you should visit the Edinburg Festival and enjoy the magnificent stone architecture.[I] 
THE FAMOUS SERIES OF STREETS ROYAL MILE  The place, from Edinburgh castle to Holyrood Palace is called the "Royal Mile" is one of the most charming places in the world . "The Royal Mile“- this is the place which contains the whole history of the city and Scotland.

BELFAST One of the most beautiful cities in the UK, which is the capital of Northern Ireland is an important port and industrial center of great Britain. This small city of the territory is actually a very beautiful countryside with many picturesque sights.[I]
The best way to get an idea about the Belfast – to look at it from above. This can be done from the Cave hill 368 meters height, which is located on the Northern outskirts of the city.  The hill was originally called "Ben Madigan" in honor of the king, who ruled in the 9th century in Ulster, Matucana. Later the locals for two centuries, called this hill "the Napoleon's Nose", as she South rock has some resemblance to the nose of Bonaparte. [3]CAVE HILL

The youngest European capital city. Today it is a modern University town, major port and industrial center. To diversify the atmosphere of the city and make it more attractive to travelers in the port area had many shops and restaurants.[I]CARDIFF

If you are in Oxford, you should also visit the Ashmolean museum and the Blenheim Palace not far from Oxford.[I] 
The Botanical garden of the Oxford University is considered the oldest botanical garden of England and the third oldest similar garden in the world — it was based in 1621 by the count Denbi in the heart of Oxford, opposite to the Magdalene's college. THE BOTANICAL GARDEN
