Sightseeing in Khabarovsk
Guide: - Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! We are going on a trip around the city Khabarovsk. I’m your guide. Our town is remarkable for its theatres, cinemas, museums . What would you like to see?
Visitor: - I’d like to know about the history of Khabarovsk. I suggest going to the Regional Lore and Natural History Museum. It is situated not far from Komsomolskaya Square. What exhibitions can a visitor see in this museum?
Guide: - Birds, animals, the Amur tiger, mammoth bones and teeth are in the Nature Department. You can also see the traditional clothes, weapons and tools of ancient people who inhabited our region long ago.
Visitor: - I heard that one of the museums of the city has a huge collection of rocks and minerals, some even from outer space. Is it really so?
Guide: - Certainly! The Geological Museum has such a collection; some fragments of rocks were brought to the Earth by automatic probes. Here you can see one of the world’s largest meteorites that crashed into the Sikhot-Ailin Mountains in the forties.
Visitor: - Oh, such interesting information! I hope we’ll go on the excursion to both museums. What else can you advise to see in your native town?
Guide: - You can visit our Musical Comedy Theatre, parks and squares, the Ice Palace “Platinum Arena” and the beautiful ponds with fountains in front of it. You may take photos in Lenin Square near the fountains, which are nicely illuminated in the evening.
Visitor: - Oh, it will be exciting. In the evening I think we’ll be tired of visiting all these places. Where can we have a rest?
Guide: - You may go to the café or restaurant to have dinner and relax there.
Visitor: - What restaurant can you recommend?
Guide: - It depends on your choice. You may go to the restaurant with a Chinese, Japanese or Russian cuisine. After dinner, you can walk to our beautiful cathedrals and churches, which raise above the city and face the Amur River.
Visitor: - No, thank you. I have already been there. I prefer to go for a walk along the embankment of the Amur, because the weather is so fine today. It is warm and sunny. We may take photos.
Guide: - It’s a great idea! Let’s go.
