Radio in our life
It’s impossible to imagine our modern life without radio. Radio is widely used in today’s world. Of all the discoveries ever made by man, radio is one of the most wonderful ones. Radio is widespread for its portability. It means that radios can easily be carried around. People like listening to the radio on the beach or picnic, while driving a car, doing something about the house or just walking down the street. The main kind of radio entertainment is music. Seated comfortable in your home, you can hear music, win something or talks.
Radio is one of the most powerful means of Mass Media. Many people of different ages listen to the radio. There is a large choice of programmes on the radio. And every person can choose programmes that he wants to listen.
There are commercial stations; they sell advertising time to pay for their operating costs and to make profit. The public stations are non profit organizations. Commercial radio stations broadcast mostly entertainment programmes to attract lager number of listeners.
Radio does many things. It reflects vital and present day problems; it raises questions and problems for discussion. And it affects various spheres of life. Radio includes information to all tastes. Some programmes teach us, inform about current events, allows us to follow the latest developments in science and politics and entertain. If you want to relax, you can just switch on any FM station and enjoy music. And, of course, radio includes effective advertisement.
On the radio one can hear music, plays, news, and different commentary and discussions called 'forums'. At a forum several authorities exchange views on social, economic and political problems. The listener can hear many opinions. Such broadcasts are popular with the listeners.
TV performs the service of information well enough but on radio everything is much more real.
Radio plays the most important role in reflecting the life of society and building opinions.
If you want to relax, you can just switch on any FM station and enjoy music.
