The human skeleton is the internal framework of the body. It is composed of 270 bones. The human skeleton can be divided into the axial skeleton and the Secondary skeleton.

axial skeleton  The axial skeleton (80 bones) is formed by :Spinal cord (32–34 bones), the rib cage (12 pairs of ribs and the breastbone) the skull (22 bones and 7 associated bones).



Skull consists mostly of flat, motionless interconnected bones. The only movable bone of the skull is the lower jaw. Skull

spinal cordSpine connecting the parts of the body has a protective function for the spinal cord and a support for the head, hands and trunk.

rib cageChest consists of twelve pairs of ribs, breastbone and thoracic vertebrae. Chest protects the heart, lungs, liver, stomach, and large vessels from damage.
