Цель занятия: Активизация лексики по теме «Здоровый образ жизни» в устной речи.
Формирование коммуникативных навыков (аудирование, чтение, говорение).
Расширение лексического запаса по теме «Здоровый образ жизни» на основе прочитанного текста, прослушанной информации.
Совершенствование навыков неподготовленной монологической и диалогической речи.
Выработка умения выражать свою точку зрения на предложенную тему.
Развитие умений работать в парах и группах.
Развитие умений высказывать свою точку зрения по проблеме.
Формирование экологического мировоззрения, отрицательного отношения к курению.

Tobacco use causes more than 40,000 deaths every year. That's a lot of people!”
Side stream and second-hand smoke (the smoke that comes off the end of a cigarette and the smoke a smoker breathes out) is really dangerous for children because children have smaller lungs.
Having smaller lungs means kids need to breathe in and out more often, so kids get more smoke in their lungs.
Once you start smoking it's really hard to stop. Smoking is addictive. You might know some grownups (parents, family members) who smoke and find it really hard to quit. So it's better not to start smoking in the first place."

Teacher: Divide into 4 groups. What would you do if someone asked you to smoke?
One student has 2 minutes to convince the other student to have a cigarette.
Students must think of ways to refuse the cigarette or use these strategies.
Strategies to resist the pressures to smoke
1) Say "No":
"I'm not interested."
"Being athletic is too important to me."
2) Change the subject
3) Tell the truth:
"Smoking stinks, and it makes you stink too."
"Smoking makes your teeth yellow."
4) Use humor"I can't smoke. I'd never make it past my mom's smoke detector: her nose!"
5) Give a reason: "I don't want to smoke. Besides, it makes you smell bad."
"I'm not going to smoke. It's bad for you."
"I promised my sister that I'd never smoke."
