Rostov-on-Don 2016 Climate The climate of Moscow is of the continental type, modified by the temperate influence of western winds from the Atlantic Ocean. Winters are cold and long, summers are short and mild . The moderate annual precipitation occurs mostly in the summer months, often in brief, heavy downpours. An average temperature in the warm months of June, July and August is around 23 °C , but during heat waves, which can occur anytime from May to September, daytime temperature highs often up to 30 °C for sometimes one or two weeks. In winter, temperatures normally drop to approximately −10 °C. Summer lasts from mid-May to the beginning of September. Winter season lasts from the beginning of November to the end of March. Getting around The Moscow Metro is a rapid transit system serving Moscow and the neighbouring Moscow Region towns of Krasnogorsk and Reutov. Opened in 1935 with one 11-kilometre (6.8 mi) line and 13 stations, it was the first underground railway system in the Soviet Union. As of 2012, the Moscow Metro has 186 stations and its route length is 308.7 kilometres (191.8 mi). The system is mostly underground, with the deepest section 84 metres (276 ft) at the Park Pobedy station. The Moscow Metro is the world's third most heavily used rapid transit system after Tokyo subway and Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Moscow bus is an important network in Moscow. The Olympic complex" Luzhniki "is one of the largest multi-sport and entertainment complexes. In the sports center the most significant events, concerts, mass festivals and shows are held. Food and drink Moscow's restaurants abound huge selection, from cozy small restaurants to luxurious world-class institutions in the center. In the city there are a lot of unusual themed restaurants that will amaze your guests individual interior and cook new dishes. Bars in Moscow offer a huge selection of drinks. You can find bars of Moscow with a diverse design - stylish, comfortable, noisy and quiet, sports and art cafe. Everyone can find a suitable environment. Sightseeing Nowadays Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There are many places of interest . The city is famous for its historical monuments, museums, art galleries and theatres. The best place for art lovers in Moscow is the Tretyakov State Gallery, which holds a large collection of Russian fine art. Another interesting collection of paintings and sculptures is held in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. One of the newest and most famous religious sights in Moscow is The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. It’s situated on the bank of the Moskva River and is known as the tallest Orthodox church in the world.
