Оборудование: учебник, Microsoft® Encarta® Encyclopedia Deluxe 2001.
I. Создание атмосферы иноязычного общения.
1. Организационный момент.
T – Good morning, children. I’m glad to see you today. Today we will speak with you about meeting British guests.
2.Речевая зарядка.T – But before we start our work, answer some my questions. Tell me please, have you ever been abroad? Have you got a chance to meet guests from different countries? Do you have foreign friends?
3.Фонетическая зарядка.T – And now look at the chalkboard, here you can see a proverb about travelling. Let’s read and translate this proverb.
“He travels the fastest who travels alone.”
II. Показ функционирования и использования усваиваемого материала.
1. Работа с учебником.
T – Someday British or other students may come on a visit to your city. Most probably they’ll visit your school. Then you’ll have a good chance to speak English. Find out what part of the country your British guests are from. What would you tell your British guests about your country/region?
Students from British schools were asked a question: “How do you imagine Moscow?” Let’s read some of the answers in the magazine “Together”.
“I imagine Moscow as having cowboys, with a lot of mountains and villages.”
“I imagine Moscow as a great wonderful city to love in. the children are very lucky to live there.”
“I imagine Moscow as a poor country and not free for what people want to do.”
“A big desert with a big sun that won’t stop shining.”“A very cold place with beautiful and beautiful art paintings all around.”“In Moscow everyone wears black furry hats and long black coats.”
T – What do you think may be unusual, surprising to foreigners about our country? Try to make a list of these things.
2. Путешествие в Кремль.
T – I think that at first place in your list is the Kremlin. Today we will travel to Moscow and visit the Kremlin. Look at the screen, here you see the view of the Kremlin. Try to think the Kremlin is unusual and surprising place for foreigners and speak about it. Let’s work in pairs.
P1 – I think that this place will be very interesting for foreigners because there are a lot of beautiful towers, buildings here.
P2 – Yes, I agree with you. I think that the first place that foreigners should visit is Kremlin.
P1- In the Kremlin foreigners can know more about history of our country.
P2- We also see the department stores here. And foreigners can buy some souvenirs to their relatives.
P1- As we see here there is a burial place of the first leader of the Soviet Union.
P2 – As for me the most interesting in this place is Saint Basil’s Cathedral because it is the most famous landmark in Moscow.
P1 – But I can say that the most interesting is the Tsar Bell and the Tsar Cannon. Look at them. They are very big. The Tsar Bell is the largest bell in the world. The Tsar Cannon is the largest cannon in the world and a popular symbol of Russian patriotism.
P2 – I think that the Kremlin will be liked by foreigners.
3. Работа с учебником.
T – Ok, thank you. And now open your books at page 27 and find the exercise 5. You can see these typical images in cartoons and pictures about Russia. Is there any truth at all in any of these stereotypes? What does each of them come from?
T – The British are reputed a good sense of humor, aren’t they? Here are some jokes. Do you find them funny? Let’s read and translate them.
- Daddy, they say that Julius Caesar could do three things at once and he did all of them well!
-Ha, forget about Julius Caesar! I can do five things at once. I can read a newspaper, listen to your Mum, drink beer, watch TV and sleep at the same time!”
The teacher is asking an arithmetic question:
-Frank, you found three dollars in tour right pocket and two dollars in your left pocket. What would you have?
-I’d have somebody else’s trousers on.”
The teacher is asking a geography question:
-Mary, where is the English Channel?
-I don’t know. We can’t it on our TV.”
T – What joke or anecdote would you tell your foreign guests? Try to practice in pairs, and then tell the whole class.
4. Домашнее задание.
T – Open your record books and write down your homework. You should use different books, maps, etc. prepare interesting and useful information about the geographical position, population, people, symbols, etc. of our country.
5. Итог урока.
T – Tell me please, what would you show your foreign friend in our country? Thank you for your work. The lesson is over. Good bye.
