II. Управление тренировкой в овладении материалом.
1. Путешествие по Лондону.
T - Today we are going to visit England. I want to see England very much. I hope that you are very happy too. But one moment! What I hear! Oh, no! Our bus has just broken down and we can’t go to England. It’s pity! But my assistance says that three of you can drive by car. I need three people who will be journalists today and they will describe all that they will see. Who wants to be a journalist?
T - The first place where we will be is the River Thames and the Houses of Parliament. You should describe everything that you see there.
T - Ok, our journalists have already been there. Tell me please what you see?
P – The first that I see is Big Ben. This is a very beautiful clock. Now it’s ten o’clock. It looks very old. When you are there it seems that you are in the past. Gothic-style buildings remind of you the mid-19th century, the site has been a royal palace since the 11th century. Big Ben, the bell in the clock tower, rings every hour. You also can see The River Thames and a lot of ships there. Near Big Ben you see a lot of old buildings. You see the bridge over the River Thames, where cars can drive. On other side of this place we see a lot of new buildings.
T - Thanks for your presentation. And our next journalist. You are in Piccadilly Circus. Please, describe your place.
P – I’m in Piccadilly Circus. It is a beautiful and old place. The first that bursts upon the eye is a winged statue of Eros. It is the Greek god of love. This statue rises in Piccadilly Circus. There are a lot of buildings around Piccadilly Circus. There are stairs around the statue, where people can sit. There is a railing around Piccadilly Circus. I think that the brightest building with the title “Sanyo” is the shopping center. In this view we can see that there are a lot of double-decker buses. And I think that the other buildings are dwellings.
T - Thank you for your presentation. It was very informative. And the last place that we will visit today is Trafalgar Square.
P – At first I want to say that Trafalgar Square is one of the most popular meeting spots in London. The square was built as a monument to British naval hero Viscount Horatio Nelson and his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. A statue of Nelson sits atop a tall column rising above the square. It is very higher monument that I have ever seen. There are a lot of pigeons in this square. You can see two fountains around this monument, where people can sit. There are a lot of buildings around Trafalgar Square. The National Gallery houses paintings, some of which date from the 13th century. There are small columns around the square.
T - Thank you very much. It was very interesting. I hope that our journalists are not tired. We will wait for their returns.
2. Song “The streets of London”
T - And now let’s sing a song “The streets of London”. Look at the chalkboard, here you can see this song. Let’s read and translate this song. Then after singing the song, write down 8 words you would expect to hear in the song and 2 that you would not expect to hear. Let’s listen to this song and then sing it.
III. Показ функционирования и использования усваиваемого материала.
1. Выполнение упражнения.
T – And now open your books at page 20 and find the exercise 2. Please, read and translate the task to this exercise. What would you expect to see in London? And read the sentences from the table.
From books and television I know that …
And I’d expect the British (Londoners, …) to …
2. Домашнее задание.
T - But now open your record books and write down your homework. Your homework is a monologue. You should make up a monologue about England.
3.Итог урока.T – Tell me please, what would you like to visit in London? Thank you for your work. The lesson is over. Good bye.
